This eutectic alloy mix coating is a better solution than pure zinc galvanized coatings as the two metals work together to extend the life of the strand. The durability combined with the corrosion tolerance of aluminum makes National Strand Galfan® coated strands the best choice for a variety of applications. Plus, when the wire is cut, scratched, or abraded, the Galfan® coating has a cathodic feature that heals any exposed steel, a further improvement over standard galvanized or other coatings as it can take the brunt of the work and protect the integrity of the strand underneath the coating.
